Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women’s Institute of Technology (Formerly known as Women’s Institute of Technology)

The L. N. Mithila University in pursuance of the order of the Bihar Govt. issued notification regarding establishment of APJAKWIT as a unit of L.N.MithilaUniversity vide Letter No. 4346-4488 dated April 21, 2004.

A three member expert committee of AICTE visited the APJAKWIT campus on April 30, 2004 for physical verification of the infrastructural facilities. The AICTE Accorded it’s approval vide F. No. 06/09/ BIH/ENGG/2004/002 dated September 28 to APJAKWIT

December 30,2005 goes down as a RED LETTER DAY in the history of APJAKWIT and L.N.Mithila University as Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam arrived in person to inaugurate the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women’s Institute of Technology (Formerly known as Women’s Institute of Technology) transferring a dream of Prof. Rajmani Prasad Sinha the then V.C., L. N. Mithila University into reality for rekindling the light of technological development of Mithila region. APJAKWIT is reaching new heights of glory under the able guidance of the present V.C. Prof. Surendra Pratap Singh and Dr. U.K Das (Director, APJAKWIT).

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women’s Institute of Technology (Formerly known as Women’s Institute of Technology) is an Engineering College exclusively for girls offering degree level courses in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science & Engineering (CS) and Post graduate course in Computer Application (MCA).

APJAKWIT, is only of its kind in North-East India. It was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in the extended campus of L. N. Mithila University, Darbhanga spread over an area of 25 acres. The college premises is within a boundary wall and has a green and lusturous surrounding.

Supported by University Science & language laboratories and its own inter connected computer centers, wi-fi facilities, i-campus, automated library, uninterrupted power supply, availability of girls hostel and with medical facility makes APJAKWIT a top class institution for girls. The institute has an excellent percentage of placement of its students. Many of its alumni are working at high levels in multinationals and corporate world in India and abroad.
